The General Manager in Training role is designed to develop individuals to lead store operations and drive sales. This position involves providing a comprehensive selling experience to both DIY and professional customers, offering leadership and developmental coaching to store Team Members, and achieving personal and store sales goals. Key responsibilities include managing DIY services such as battery installation and testing, ensuring high standards of customer service, and promptly addressing any product or operational complaints. The role requires an understanding of how to impact the store's profit and loss (P&L) statement and includes manager-on-duty responsibilities like coaching, issue resolution, floor and phone management, task assignment, safety oversight, and opening/closing duties. Additionally, the General Manager in Training will manage the weekly scheduling process and assist in backing up commercial delivery programs. Success in this role is tied to demonstrating ownership, possessing superior communication and customer service skills, and having strong knowledge of automotive systems and safety. The position also requires the ability to execute and train on various operational processes, inventory systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and parts lookup systems, as well as the capability to analyze business reports and inspire team members.
