About The Position

Sodexo is hiring our General Manager 4 Environmental Services for a potential sale in New Jersey for the K12 segment. As a key leader within our Facilities Management team, our General Manager will oversee custodial, sanitation, and grounds operations while ensuring exceptional service delivery to a high‑visibility client environment. Reporting directly to the FM Director, this role requires a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise, the ability to communicate effectively with C‑Suite stakeholders, and the operational discipline to manage a complex budget. Our ideal candidate brings a blend of custodial and grounds knowledge, team leadership, and a commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and efficient equipment and facilities. (Black Seal Certification is required in NJ). This is a potential sale, and contingent offers will be made.

Requirements

  • Have the Black Seal Certification required in NJ
  • A robust technical background in sanitation, custodial operations, and grounds maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, diverse teams across custodial and grounds functions.
  • Strong communication skills with proven success interacting with C‑Suite and senior administration.
  • A track record of effective budget management, cost savings, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience – 5 yearsMinimum Functional Experience – 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Have the Black Seal Certification required in NJ
  • Optimize a $2M+ annual budget, identifying cost‑saving opportunities without compromising service standards.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for custodial equipment and ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior client leadership, providing clear communication, updates, and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead daily operations across custodial, sanitation, and grounds teams, ensuring high-quality service and regulatory compliance
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, driving performance improvements and fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
