About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Worker to join our HEO team at HELSTF. With minimal supervision, you’ll help keep equipment, facilities, and operations running smoothly every day.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in general maintenance work across trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical
Valid Driver’s License (driving required)
Ability to drive trucks up to 26,000 GVW
Ability to operate forklifts up to 15,000 lbs
Ability to operate a man lift platform
Practical, hands-on knowledge of multiple maintenance trades
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internal databases
Strong safety awareness and ability to maintain compliant work areas
Knowledge of and respect for cultural and ethnic diversity
Office of Inspector General / CMMS Exclusions List ✔

General Background Check ✔
Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI Federal Background Check

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs across multiple trades, including: HVAC Carpentry & machine work Facilities maintenance Electrical Heavy equipment
Replace electrical receptacles, wiring, switches, fixtures, and motors
Repair or replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
Perform general maintenance on machinery and equipment
Read and interpret blueprints and freehand sketches
Complete sheet metal work as needed
Dispense fuel for site vehicles
Serve as crane and forklift rigger for lifts
Act as a spotter for backhoe and trencher operations
Maintain and organize the sling loft
Accept and complete special assignments as directed by your supervisor
Report to work on time, remain alert, and follow attendance procedures
Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings
Adhere to dress code and all organizational policies
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Follow all Health, Safety, Security, and Hazardous Materials policies (OSHA, SDS, HIPAA, Workers’ Compensation)
Represent the organization professionally and support its mission, ethics, and goals
Carry and respond to work phone communications promptly
Operate company or personal vehicles as required (company vehicles must be kept clean)
Demonstrate respect for diversity and work effectively within a diverse community
