Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of duties of an unskilled to semi-skilled nature.
Responsible for janitorial and housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping, dusting and cleaning offices, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, etc.
Operate small golf course equipment, using specific attachments to till, cultivate and grade new turf areas, to apply prescribed amounts of lime, fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide and how to mow rough and fairway areas at a designated cut, exercising care not to injure turf or shrubs.
Use of small hand tools in the assembly and repair of automated containers.
Maintain inventory of all automated containers as well as inventory of individual parts of these containers. Re-order as needed to keep stock age at an acceptable level.
Maintain and repair barricade lights on City streets, sidewalks, and neutral grounds by conducting daily inspections of locations, and responds to calls received.
Must place barricades to ensure minimal liability in hazardous situations.
Operate and perform routine preventative maintenance on any of the following equipment: riding mower, fork lift, crew pickup truck, concrete saw, tractor/bush hog, small front end loader and jackhammer.
Complete necessary paperwork to be submitted to foreman/supervisor.
Can perform duties of General Maintenance Worker I.
Perform any other assigned duties.
Ability to maintain written records and prepare reports.
Can perform duties of General Maintenance Worker I. Ability to operate small machinery and equipment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
