Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment to buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, insulating, and drywall/masonry work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing light bulbs, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; replacing damaged ceiling tiles/components, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, replacing HVAC filters/belts, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Position requires the ability to assist other trades as necessary to include HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.

Requirements

  • Active (or ability to obtain) TS/SCI with Poly Clearance
  • A combination of education and related experience equal to two (2) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (50 pounds), sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, may experience prolonged and irregular work hours, and work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to assist other trades
  • Available to work after-hours and preform snow removal.

Responsibilities

  • Make minor carpentry, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
  • Analyze, Plan, and Perform Preventive Maintenance of various systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and make modifications of premises and equipment
