About The Position

Tessera is seeking a skilled and adaptable General Maintenance Mechanic (GMM) to support facility operations at USAFA. This dynamic role allows qualified tradespeople to perform multi-disciplinary tasks across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The GMM ensures safe, efficient maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment while upholding high safety and performance standards. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in general maintenance or a skilled trade
Must have experience as an electrician, plumber/fitter, carpenter, or HVAC mechanic
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and operate heavy equipment safely
Proficiency in reading technical documents and using digital work management tool
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Responsibilities

Perform multi-trade maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs
Inspect and service mechanical systems such as boilers, pumps, motors, and fixtures using hand and power tools
Operate heavy equipment and rigging devices safely for facility upkeep and machinery handling
Respond to emergency maintenance calls and assist with seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping
Read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to complete repairs accurately and efficiently
Use mobile devices for timekeeping, work order tracking, and inventory management
Collaborate with other trades while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining professional conduct across all assignments
