About The Position

UPMC is hiring a Full-time, General Maintenance 2 to support the hospital at Community Osteopathic, Harrisburg. This role requires providing your own hand tools, while UPMC provides power and specialty tools. The position involves handling a variety of tasks daily, supporting multiple trades based on department needs rather than specializing in one. It is suitable for individuals with trade school completion or experience in one trade who are eager to learn and grow skills in others. The schedule is Sunday-Wednesday, 9:00pm-7:00am (Night Shift). Requirements

Completion of a high school diploma/GED is required.
A total of 2 years of general maintenance-related work experience is required.
Driver's License
Act 34

Nice To Haves

Healthcare experience is preferred.
Completion of a High School Vocational program or Trade School is preferred.
Military experience considered.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.
Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment
Exhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry/hardware, mechanical equipment and facilities systems.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
Maintain all written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities, i.e., med gas, equipment room rounds, etc.
Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems.
Operate and maintain a variety of building's direct digital control (DDC) systems.
Order materials as needed.
Perform all work following infection control procedures.
Perform minor carpentry and painting work.
Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.
Minor repairs and maintaining of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, plumbing leaks (soldering), defective pipes and clogged drains.
Performs general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas.
Performs required maintenance, repair and inspection of beds.
Ability to perform snow removal activities and work in adverse weather conditions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
