About The Position

Babbitting Service, Inc. , is seeking a motivated, hands-on Machining & Inspection Technician to support our operations in Wellsville, NY. This is not a general labor position — this role is ideal for someone with machine shop experience who wants to grow their skills in precision measurement, bearing and part assembly, and quality inspection.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and tolerances
• Experience and familiarity with precision measuring tools
• Strong basic math skills for tolerance calculations
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Machine shop or manufacturing experience
• Inspection or quality control background
• BSI participates in E-Verify
• Background check required prior to onboarding

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with surface grinders, lapping machines, and forklifts

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspection using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
• Assist with bearing and part assembly, fitting, and setup
• Support machining operations including surface grinding, bandsaw cutting, and lapping
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
