Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting
  • 2+ years of experience in general ledger and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems supporting manufacturing operations (Oracle, SAP, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a manufacturing mindset
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing and month‑end reviews of expense accounts to ensure accurate coding, proper classification, and compliance with accounting policies for financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, inventory, and manufacturing-related adjustments.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and perform monthly account reconciliations; including inventory, cost of goods sold, fixed assets, CIP, tooling, prepaids, ship history, etc.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial and operational reports with clear explanations for period-over-performance changes.
  • Manage the corporate credit card platform, ensuring proper user access, transaction monitoring, policy compliance, timely reconciliations, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and manufacturing accounting standards.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Maintain and analyze manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead.
  • Perform cost variance analysis (PPV, labor / overhead) and investigate root causes related to production, purchasing, or efficiency issues.
  • Support inventory valuation by reviewing costing and analyzing adjustments for obsolescence, slow‑moving items.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive cost efficiency and process improvements.
  • Prepare the annual auto allowance schedule, calculate and file monthly USE tax returns, and prepare property tax returns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
