About The Position

Safely assist Mechanics and other shop personnel in daily responsibilities around the bays or as directed by Supervisor/Manager. To work in cooperation with the Plant Manager aiding in the repairs/maintenance of all aspects of the operating system at the EWSWA MRF to ensure optimal system performance. Key Responsibilities: • In cooperation with Plant Manager, you are to ensure the assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner which includes, but is not limited to: i. Daily cleaning of screens and shafts. ii. Daily cleaning of accumulation around all screens. iii. Ensure that the facility and work areas are kept clean and organized. iv. Clean up outside around bins and compactor while system is running. v. Cleaning of Specialty Equipment (Opticals, Eddy Current, etc.) vi. Preventative Maintenance and Inspections. vii. System Mechanical Repairs. viii. Inventory and tracking of critical spare parts. • Must be ready to prioritize and adjust assignments accordingly to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and minimize potential downtime. • Perform system maintenance as per priority sequence and conduct emergency repairs when required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: • Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment as assigned. • Follow all safety procedures as outlined by the Safety Act, Applicable Industrial Regulations, Federal, Provincial, State, Municipal regulations, Health and Safety policies and procedures. • Report all accident, incidents, near misses and hazards to supervision immediately.
