About The Position

A General Laborer is an entry-level position that performs general lumber mill responsibilities including stacking lumber and moving inventory. They are responsible for manual labor tasks and support production operations.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a mill and/or wood production work environment preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job which may include climbing, pushing, kneeling, and lifting heavy items as well as standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to work in all types of weather.
• Communicate effectively with any levels/departments within the organization.
• High school diploma.
• Reliable attendance.
• Be able to lift 50#.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily work instructions including, but not limited to, operating saws, moulders, ect, and stacking lumber off said machine centers.
• Learn and understand quality and stacking standards.
• Ability to or willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment.
• Assists in performing basic maintenance to equipment.
• Gain an understanding of mill operations and production processes.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Attend all safety meetings and any necessary production meetings.
• Keep production area clean and free of hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.
