About The Position

Sonoco, a multi-billion dollar global company in packaging solutions, is seeking a General Laborer for its Paper Mill plant in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and involves working in various departments. The ideal candidate will be Sonoco mission-driven, possess strong hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail. The position requires excellent attendance, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, and a dedication to producing quality products safely. No prior manufacturing experience is required, but candidates must be able to meet physical and vision requirements and obtain a Power Truck Operator license.

• Ability to work in extremely hot areas
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
• Thinking on your feet and troubleshooting problems and situations
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitoring and reporting quality of manufactured product
• Applying critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to setup new jobs and operate various machines
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
• Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
• Helping out other departments as needed
