General Laborer - Custodial, Grounds & Snow Removal

About The Position

Tessera is seeking a hardworking and motivated General Laborer with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Perform daily cleaning of offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to maintain a sanitary environment. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces regularly. Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal of waste. Restock restroom and facility supplies such as paper products and soap. Clean windows, glass surfaces, and entryways to maintain a professional appearance. Always follow established safety and sanitation procedures. Maintain the exterior grounds by mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, and removing weeds. Pick up litter and debris to ensure the property remains clean and presentable. Operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely and efficiently. Perform minor repairs and upkeep of outdoor areas, walkways, and fencing. Monitor grounds for hazards and report maintenance needs promptly. Remove snow from walkways, parking areas, and entrances in a timely manner. Apply ice melt or sand to prevent slippery and hazardous conditions. Operate snow removal equipment such as plows, blowers, and shovels as needed. Monitor weather conditions and respond to On-Call to snow and ice events. Ensure safe access to all facility entry points during winter conditions. All Other Duties as Assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 0 – 3 years of previous custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Combination of experience and education will be considered
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Per our government contract, 2.7.2.6, “No employee or representative of the Contractor will be admitted to the site of work unless satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship is furnished.”
