About The Position

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operates Machinery such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, that stretch, punch, cut, shape, and bend metal, lineal, sheets, tubes, or parts, and other general labor responsibilities, including but not limited to racking, unracking, and inspecting. Essential Duties: Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Assists machine operators in setting up jobs, stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished workpieces. Properly gauge parts using gauges. Read and understand all work instructions. Quality instruction and quantity awareness postings. Clock in and out of work centers. Ability to properly fill out and complete all necessary paperwork at the work center. Properly label all finished material. Work safely and securely. Work as a team and treat people with respect. Meet or exceed production standards, strive for ways to improve productivity. Pack aluminum products, using a banding machine, chop-cut saw, nailer, stretch wrap, and tape. Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of work areas, facilities, and grounds. Pushes a button or depresses a pedal to activate the machine. Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from the workpiece. Hand load parts onto racks and off from anodizing racks into proper packaging. Operate the head and tail stretcher. Ability to read the work order and set the saw stop accordingly. Rack material at the extrusion saw. Operate the extrusion saw and monitor the racker’s functions. Handload parts off the extrusion saw table and onto racks or into proper packaging. Hand load parts off the cooling table onto the stretcher and stretch material and over to the extrusion saw carry over table. Handload parts onto and out of the saw and monitor the saw and racker functions. Handload parts into and out of proper packaging. Perform daily machine maintenance. Positions the workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with the die or blade. Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions and documents said information when required. Measures workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation. Performs minor tool maintenance such as oiling dies, tools, or workpieces.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
