About The Position

Manage the Slaughter Department staff and activities, including the daily production for the kill floor, offal, variety of by-products, and feet areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 + years of supervisory experience in all areas of the kill floor, offal, and various products.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, evaluate, and direct frontline supervisors as well as production employees on the shift in performing operations according to policies, procedures, and product specifications.
  • Stimulate and maximize the safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity of production employees.
  • Ability to communicate with USDA inspectors.
  • Monitor and implement the department's goals.
  • Ensure proper training of employees and supervisors.
  • Expertise in the Harvest floor, offal, variety of by-products, and feet areas as well as government statutes, laws and regulations, and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production.
  • Work closely with other production supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in the department.
  • Attend scheduled meetings.
  • Measure and report daily yields and downtime.
  • Responsible for associates' discipline and turnover.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
