About The Position

The successful candidate will manage up to five Operations Supervisors and seventy-five hourly employees. The successful candidate will provide daily direction and technical assistance to the supervisors and hourly employees while managing the performance of their group's safety (this includes the quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvement). The General Foreman will be responsible for the administration and execution of their craft's work paper (i.e., work orders, TGIs, DIs, ERs, Unsats, EWPs, Test Forms, etc.), support AreaSuperintendents where trade expertise is required, coordinate trade work assignments with Area Superintendents, support Ship's meetings and be responsible for trade commitments. They will take responsibility for mentoring new supervisor's, be responsible for special tooling and fixtures associated with the craft, ensure the necessary training and qualifications are maintained for supervisor's and hourly employees, support supervision with labor issues, discipline, EEO and OSHA compliance. Develop accurate Project specific manning plans, and assist with the development of capital acquisitions. Must be able to work all shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of previous or current trades supervisory experience
  • 5+ years trades experience
  • Must have the ability to pass AAMP/NACE coatings inspector as required by business needs
  • Available for all 3 shifts
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills
  • Possess detailed knowledge of Planning, Construction, and Test activities
  • The ability to access all areas of the ship including confined spaces
  • Practical knowledge of the Operations Work List (OWL) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

Nice To Haves

  • NACE/NAVSEA certified
  • 5+ years of coatings management experience
  • Able to read and interpret coatings specific blueprints and drawings
