General Foreman Responsibilities: Production: Daily Job Tracking: What got completed Workflow and the crew’s plan Weather Equipment issues Pivot the job-based on the above data Gauge the crew moral and make sure members who want to advance are getting an opportunity to learn and increase skill set Work with your supervisor to work on recruiting for new employees when needed Pre Trip Planning Review the scope of the job Meet with the CM Complete GF JIS sheet for each property Allocate points on Tree Plotter to the crew best tasked for the job Safety: Audits: Look for safety gear and company uniform (Helmets, Shirts, Chainsaw pants) Make sure hazard IDs are getting recognized and addressed Injuries: Communicate with the Foreman to make sure the person or people are safe. Make sure someone documents everything ASAP Get upper management involved ASAP. Get to the jobsite ASAP. Communication: Review all daily paperwork Update "MONDAY" with information from "DAILY SHEETS" Whip around review (Future) Review Expenses Compare paperwork to Tree Plotter Track Job Progress compared to schedule Income Earned Handle Damage Claims Track claims and status on MONDAY Contact all parties involved CM Homeowners Contractors Find Contractors to repair Get a second Bid Review Inventory requested by Crews Approve or deny request Pull items for crew Submit inventory report to Monday.com Crew Audits Complete Audit paperwork and submit Take actions to resolve issues found on Audit Foreman reviews Logistics: Onsite for crew takeoff and returns Ensure crew do their end of trip work Clean and empty trucks Turn in all paperwork Unlock trailer Unload the loader Review Hotels, Dumpsites, and inventory Equipment repairs and lining up techs to work and repair equipment General Foreman Expectations: Onsite crew visits required each rotation. GF DS submitted by 7:45 A M Mon - Fri. If the crew is rained out, submit GF DS with the same subject format (ex. GF DS Yellow 6/20/2025). Enter "Rain day" in the body of email. "Monday" updated by 7:45 AM Mon - Fri. Update "Trees Cut". If delayed by weather, create an "update" on "Monday" with radar screenshot of the project area Change "Timeline" for remaining rotation projects based on delays. Payroll submitted by Mon EOD Projects assigned for Pre-trip planning need reviewed within 48h (GF JIS). Projects can be reviewed on TreePlotter unless a site visit is warranted. If project warrants a site visit, write an "update" with travel plans within 48h (projects do NOT have to b e visited with 48h, but planned dates must be determined). Projects budgeted above $50,000 must be visited unless approved by Ops Manager. Increased audits by Ops Manager and Management New reporting rollout / implementation (these will be provided) Revised D S (crew) Revised CMSO (crew) New Swap Approval Form (crew / GF) Revised summary email format (GF) Revised GF DS (GF) Submit end-of-rotation summary on crew return date (end-of-rotation summary form will be provided). If goals were hit, what went right and can be replicated moving forward? If goals were not hit, what were the causes and what plans are being made for improvement? List "off-week" plan with dates and tasks IF thorough rotation notes are kept, this should simply be a summary with "off week" plans included. All rotation notes are updated on "Monday". All equipment notes are updated on "Monday". All inventory requests are updated on "Monday" on crew return date. G F position is granted 10 vacation days. Request must be submitted 10 business days from dates requested. Status briefing must be scheduled with Ops Manager within 48h of taking dates requested. Use of vacation days does not omit GF from monthly crew visits or previously scheduled site visits. GF position is granted 4 sick days Forman will be offered "Leadership Surveys" at the end of each rotation directly from Ops Manager. Ratings will be reported on a 1-10 scale based on the following criteria for GF: Availability / response time Proactive strategy / job-site knowledge Dump info provided Personnel needs met Inventory needs met Involvement with crew member development Presence while "on-site" Includes a "Question, comments, concerns" section GF Inventory Responsibilities Request due 7 days before the crew return date Items will be order by Steven/Jake G F will pick online orders from local stores Whoever drops of Inventory to the shop i s the one who add them to Monday board GF will review and stock their crews trailers 48h before crew take off G F will submit the items were pulled to Steven/Jake NPS will be tracking pulled inventory By GF not by Crew New "Three Strike Policy" will be put into effect. A "Strike" is warranted if the above expectations - including those listed in Attachment A and Attachment B - - are not met. A "strike" can also be given from an Ops Manager audit if there are severe issues with the crew regarding communication, safety, and quality. Three "strikes" will initiate a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) directed at areas of failed expectations. Details of PIP will be determined at time-of-need. If "strikes" continue while on PIP, termination is warranted.
