About The Position

As a member of the executive team, this position provides day-to-day legal support for a variety of contracts, including value-based care and physician participation, advises business teams on various aspects of applicable laws and regulations. Conducts research, drafts contracts, collaborating with other counsel as needed. Responds to escalated compliance matters.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to navigate legal frameworks and advise Management and Board accordingly.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess potential risks and develop data-driven strategies that align with organizational objectives
  • Strong understanding of health care regulations and industry trends
  • Ability to communicate effectively both with internal colleagues and external partners.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and decision-making skills required
  • Well organized, disciplined, hands-on and process-oriented leader with the ability of digging into details when necessary
  • Strong adaptability to handle shifting priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Licensed in the State of Florida
  • 5+ years of healthcare regulatory guidance and experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting
  • Experience in healthcare regulatory compliance matters and provider-payer reimbursement issues with both commercial payors and Medicare.
  • Demonstrated detail-oriented and excellent interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic and high level of integrity and ethics

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the chief legal advisor to the board and management, ensuring legal compliance, managing risks, and upholding ethics to protect the company’s integrity and stakeholders.
  • Provides legal advice and counsel to business units in diverse matters affecting the day-to-day activities of the organization.
  • Provides strategic legal guidance, oversees regulatory adherence, develops governance policies, manages litigations, and advises on ethical matters, serving as the conscience of the corporation to balance legal requirements with business objectives.
  • Stays up to date on industry changes and key deadlines and milestones. Continually evaluates changes in laws and regulations, communicates those changes to business stakeholders and provides support in development policies and procedures as required.
  • Reviews participant agreements and ensuring that all agreements are equitable and protect the business of all potential risks and liability. Assists in the development and structuring of provider-affiliated group practices
  • Promotes a cohesive organizational culture that values legal compliance and strategic foresight.
  • Performs other duties as required
