About The Position

The General Contractor Qualifier is the licensed individual designated through the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors who is responsible for qualifying the company’s contractor license. This role ensures that all construction activities comply with Georgia laws, codes, and licensing requirements. The qualifier must be actively connected to the business and provide oversight consistent with state regulations.

Requirements

  • Active Georgia General Contractor or Residential Contractor license in good standing.
  • 5–10+ years of construction experience, including supervisory or project management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Georgia building codes, permitting processes, and construction best practices.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and provide high-level technical guidance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated qualifier for the company’s Georgia General Contractor license (Residential Basic, Residential Light Commercial, or General Contractor).
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations set by the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors.
  • Provide oversight and direction of construction operations to ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Review and approve project plans, permits, and major construction activities as needed.
  • Ensure all construction work complies with local building codes, zoning requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Support project managers and field teams with technical expertise and problem resolution.
  • Participate in inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries when required.
  • Maintain the contractor license in good standing, including renewals and continuing education (if applicable).
  • Ensure proper use of the company’s license number on contracts, bids, and permits.
  • Notify the licensing board of any changes that may impact the company’s license status (e.g., separation from company).
