About The Position

General Assembly Technician II Position Summary The General Assembly Technician II is a fully qualified assembler who independently performs standard mechanical and electrical assembly operations. This role requires the ability to read and follow drawings and work instructions without supervision, maintain consistent production pace, and ensure quality through in-process inspections. The Technician II supports team performance through peer assistance and informal mentoring while contributing directly to productivity and rework reduction. 1st Shift Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Demonstrated competency in mechanical and electrical assembly
  • Experience with harness routing, electrical termination, and torque tools
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and work instructions independently
  • Familiarity with in-process inspection and basic quality requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
  • Consistent ability to meet production takt and schedule requirements
  • Practical problem-solving skills for routine assembly issues
  • Good documentation habits and understanding of traceability requirements
  • Effective team communication and willingness to support others
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to established limits with or without assistance
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform standard assembly operations in accordance with drawings, work instructions, and established takt times
  • Complete mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including harness routing and use of torque-controlled tools
  • Perform electrical terminations and component installations per approved work instructions
  • Install body and interior components such as panels, trim, and interior assemblies
  • Conduct in-process inspections to verify workmanship, fit, and compliance to quality requirements
  • Identify and resolve routine assembly issues, escalating non-standard problems as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely job documentation, including assembly records and quality checks
  • Support peers by answering technical questions, demonstrating tasks, and reinforcing standard work
  • Make task-level and sequence decisions to maintain workflow efficiency within assigned work areas
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress, issues, and improvements
