About The Position

The General Accountant at Marriott International is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and transactions. This role involves organizing and maintaining financial documents, preparing reports, and managing accounts payable and receivable. The accountant will work closely with other team members to support the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining a professional work environment.

  • At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verify figures, entries, and documents for accuracy.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash, and cash equivalents according to policies and procedures.
  • Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.
  • Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial information to maintain financial records using journals and ledgers.
  • Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, audit, or payroll reports.
  • Complete closing procedures and reports at the end of the period as specified.
  • Prepare, examine, reconcile, and issue accounts, invoices, and statements according to company procedures.
  • Follow up and resolve overdue accounts and vendor invoices until full payment is received or resolved.
  • Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash-handling employees.
  • Document, maintain, communicate, and act on any cash discrepancies.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage all cash drawers and contracts.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets; protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
  • Communicate with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer phones using appropriate protocol.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to concerns of other employees.
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
