About The Position

At Pacific Science Center, our mission is to ignite curiosity in every child and fuel a passion for discovery, experimentation, and critical thinking in all of us. Our colleagues are passionate lifelong learners who live our mission every day. Each of us commits to bring an inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA) focus in every aspect of our work. Join our collaborative team and help steward our warm, welcoming, community-learning environment at PacSci. As part of our ongoing commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, we’re invested in building teams with a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Data shows that women and BIPOC candidates more frequently do not apply to a job because they don’t feel that they meet all of the qualifications listed. If you have some of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and you share PacSci's values and support our mission, we encourage you to apply. Pacific Science Center has been a gateway to science education and innovation for nearly 60 years, serving people across our region and championing the belief that science is for everyone. We work every day to create spaces where curiosity thrives, learning is accessible, and all guests feel welcome. At PacSci, curiosity isn’t just part of our exhibits, it’s part of our culture. We value people who ask questions, seek understanding, and bring a spirit of exploration to their work. As part of our Finance & Accounting team, you’ll support the financial integrity that makes our mission possible, ensuring that every dollar entrusted to us is used responsibly and in service of community impact. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys independent work (about 70%) while still collaborating with colleagues who share a passion for curiosity, inclusion, and community service (about 30%). The General Accountant supports the organization by stewarding accurate accounting practices, responsible spending, and transparent reporting. You’ll manage day‑to‑day financial operations including accounts payable, expense tracking, and reconciliations that help keep our mission-driven work running smoothly. Your contribution will ensure our staff and vendors can do their best work for the communities we serve. This role operates within a hybrid work model, supporting both onsite collaboration and remote work.
