About The Position

The General Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks to support the finance department and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This role includes accounts payables, reconciling financial records, preparing journal entries, and assisting in month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting software
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vendor files and W-9 records.
  • Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and coding.
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system.
  • Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices for 3-way matching.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account updates.
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Prepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Ensure all payments are properly documented and recorded.
  • Assist with month-end accruals and AP-related journal entries.
  • Create Point of Sales and End of Day Flash reports with daily operations and financial activity.
  • Assist with contractor timecards and communication
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information
  • Manage and respond to Accounts Payable email inbox.
  • Adhere to internal controls and approval hierarchies.
  • Ordering of name tags and other supplies as needed.
  • Check and distribute mail.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.
