The General Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the Company’s general ledger. This position is responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership, leading balance sheet reviews, managing complex accounting areas, and supporting internal reporting requirements. Essential Job Responsibilities: · Lead the preparation of the monthly accounting reporting package, including financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analysis. · Review and approve detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items. · Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including oversight of account classifications, cleanup initiatives, and correction of errors. · Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. · Present and lead monthly balance sheet review meetings with management. · Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to support management decision-making. · Identify process gaps and implement improvements to strengthen internal controls. · Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes and serve as a key point of contact for audit requests and technical accounting matters. · Oversee the timely completion of month-end close in accordance with corporate deadlines. · Champion special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as needed. · Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional associations. · Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
