About The Position

Meneses Law is seeking a skilled General Accountant to join our dynamic team to contribute to our company’s financial health and success. We are looking for a detailed-oriented and organized General Accountant to support our financial operations. The accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, recording accounting adjustments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  • Proven experience as a General Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping.
  • Must have impeccable math skills
  • Able to type 45 WPM or more.
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Must have 3 years of related experience required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, knowledge of MS Office and MacOS.
  • Ability of reading comprehension, writing, speaking to others to convey information effectively, active listening and interpreting instructional documents. English/ Spanish bilingual oral communication is a must.
  • Must be able to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to define the problem or objective. Identify relevant concerns or factors, patterns, tendencies, and relationships. Formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternative and their implications.
  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Record and classify financial transactions in accordance to GAAP
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements on an accrual basis.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Perform account analysis and variance analysis to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Prepare and submit various tax forms and reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Assist with annual audit process and provide documentation as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and practices.
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, manage accounting staff.
  • Report financial statements to CPA/Controller and external auditing firms in accordance to GAAP
  • Identify area for improvement or cost saving opportunities
  • Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.
