Do you want to build a career that is truly worthwhile? The World Bank Group (WBG) is a unique global partnership of five institutions driven by a bold vision to create a world free of poverty on a living planet. As one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries, we help solve the world’s greatest development challenges. When you join the World Bank Group, you become part of a dynamic, diverse organization with 189 member countries and more than 120 offices worldwide. For more information, visit www.worldbank.org. The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) is the world's largest multilateral climate fund, with $13.5 billion channeled through six Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to 78 countries. CIF financing catalyzes climate action in developing and middle-income countries by funding transformational projects that reduce emissions, build resilience, and accelerate the transition to clean energy and sustainable development. CIF operates through a unique partnership model that brings together governments, MDBs, the private sector, and civil society. This collaborative approach ensures that climate finance reaches those who need it most while testing innovative solutions that can be scaled globally. As climate challenges intensify and the demand for climate finance grows, CIF continues to expand its instruments and impact. In 2025, CIF became the first multilateral climate fund to access capital markets, unlocking $500 million in private sector capital with the CIF Capital Markets Mechanism (CCMM). CIF funding, featuring high quality financing and high co-financing ratios, empowers developing countries, lowers risk, enables first-of-their-kind investments, and contributes to transformational change. www.cif.org Gender and Social Inclusion CIF places gender equality at the core of its mandate, requiring gender considerations to be integrated throughout the investment cycle in line with MDB policies and international good practice. This approach is operationalized through Gender Action Plans that translate policy commitments into concrete requirements, tools, and processes across CIF-supported investments. Building on MDB partner commitments and implementation experience, CIF is currently developing a new Action Plan in Support of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Outcomes, which will retain a strong focus on gender equality while more systematically integrating social inclusion. The CIF Gender and Social Inclusion Team leads upstream integration across the portfolio, results monitoring and evaluation, strategic approaches to leveraging CIF finance for social impact, evidence generation and learning with MDBs and MCFs, and manages the Women-Led Coal Transitions (WOLCOT) grant mechanism under the Accelerated Coal Transitions Program in collaboration with the Energy team.
