Responsible for the administration of all Track and Structural Inspection activities. Supervises Track and Structure’s Foremen and Planners. Coordinates and directs the maintenance work programs, safety, training, documentation, and personnel scheduling programs. Responsible for the enforcement of rules, regulations and special instructions to ensure that all Track and Structural equipment have been properly maintained in accordance with current Track and Structural safety practices. Works closely with Management staff and provides input in the development of the operating and capital budget programs. Plans and schedules support for work involving Track and Structures work and other branches for Facilities and Maintenance of Way and Rail Operations that interface with Track and Structures. Represents Managers at meetings and acts in the Manager’s capacity when required. Required to respond and assume command during emergencies or major incidents on a twenty-four-hour basis.
