About The Position

The Gearing Up for Kindergarten Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful implementation of the Gearing Up for Kindergarten program. This role serves as the central point of contact for families, teachers, building administrators, and community partners, ensuring high-quality programming that supports children and families in preparing for kindergarten. The coordinator plays a key role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment where families feel valued and empowered as their child’s first teacher, fostering strong partnerships that support early learning and school readiness.

Requirements

  • Must be current Mandan Public School District employee.
  • Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage program schedules, including sessions, events, and activities.
  • Coordinate the availability and scheduling of teachers, volunteers/aides, presenters/speakers, and translators.
  • Coordinate with building administration and custodial staff to reserve facilities, ensure room availability, and confirm buildings are open and accessible for all program activities.
  • Ensure all program components are organized, communicated, and executed effectively.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to engage children and families in the program.
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies (social media, flyers, community partnerships, etc.).
  • Manage enrollment processes, including registration, wait lists, and participant communication.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget.
  • Order supplies and materials needed for program delivery.
  • Process stipends and payments for staff, presenters, and aides in accordance with organizational procedures.
