About The Position

The role will report to the Director of U.S. Government Affairs & Policy. The position holder will support GE Vernova’s government engagement initiatives in the U.S., representing all business units. Working in close partnership with the Government Affairs team, they will support a broad range of legislative, regulatory, and policy issues; monitor legislation and regulatory actions; contribute to GE Vernova’s policy priority progress; and help execute GE Vernova’s advocacy strategy. As an intern on the U.S. Government Affairs & Policy Team, you will be an active contributor to key strategic projects and processes that help advance GE Vernova’s mission to electrify to thrive and decarbonize. An internship may include legislative research, government education and engagement, and policy development.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program in a field related to political science, public policy, business, engineering, or sustainability.
  • Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Permanent legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with colleagues to execute Government Affairs & Policy initiatives across the company to help drive policy and strategy development in key areas and improve company advocacy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to respond to formal and informal requests for information from congressional offices and government agencies.
  • Contribute to the preparation and follow up for meetings with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholder groups, including internal business units.
  • Assist in the research and analysis of current and proposed legislation, regulations, and other policies to determine potential impacts on GE Vernova businesses and possible Government Affairs and Policy advocacy opportunities.
  • Help execute public policy and affairs campaigns to achieve GE Vernova priorities and objectives.
  • Manage and organize team documents, files, and databases, including internal policy materials, outreach lists, and more.
  • Execute other special projects as needed, including assistance on annual priorities, stakeholder management, and tools to address business needs.
  • Participate in key team meetings to ensure the GE Vernova Government Affairs and Policy team is proactively tracking and responding to relevant policy trends.

  • The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $30.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/ graduate field of study completed
  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
