About The Position

Grand Canyon University Athletics is seeking a student photographer to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU’s Athletics Department. Purpose within the organization: The Student Photographer will work with the GCU Athletics Photographer and will take direction and make edits on all projects from the Associate Athletic Director of Media Production or Sr. Athletics Photographer. The main function of the student worker photographer position is to take photos capturing GCU Athletic events along with other events or activities pertaining to or associated with student-athletes or supporting staff. PLEASE READ This job has hours that vary based on the Athletic Events Schedule and hours aren’t guaranteed. This position is for those looking for experience in the sports photography field. This job will require working evenings and weekends. It is fun and exciting, but a lot of hard work. Requirements

• Knowledge and Understanding of Sports
• Ability to Anticipate Sports Action
• Takes Initiative (This position requires you to take a project from beginning to end)
• Willingness to learn, and most of all have fun doing something you love.
• This position requires work on nights and weekends with irregular hours.
• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Responsibilities

• The student photographer will be integral in taking photos of student-athletes and sporting events at Grand Canyon University.
• Athletic Games/Practices
• Studio Shoots (Media Days/Recruiting Shoots)
• Press Conferences
• Special Events
• Community Outreach
• Other Misc. Athletic needs
• Able to work on expedited timeline
• Responsible uploading, organizing and tagging photos
