About The Position

The Gatehouse Attendant is responsible for managing access to the property, greeting all visitors and residents in a friendly and professional manner, and providing informational assistance. Key duties include recording all vehicular and pedestrian traffic using an access control system, observing and communicating incidents to management and security, completing necessary paperwork, maintaining the cleanliness of the gatehouse, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter the community. The role also involves using proper telephone etiquette and reporting any building deficiencies to the appropriate personnel immediately.

Requirements

  • A positive attitude and willingness to work with a diverse population.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience as a Gatehouse employee.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Stand and greet everyone that approaches the visitor lane seeking access to the property, in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Greet all residents returning home via the resident lane.
  • Provide informational assistance as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of locations throughout the property in order to properly direct traffic within the community.
  • Record via the access control system all traffic entering the property both vehicular and pedestrian.
  • Observe, record, and communicate actions, activities, incidents and/or any information that may be of the interest of the Management Office, Security or the Front Desk personnel.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork ensuring reports are legible and in order.
  • Keep the gatehouse clean at all times.
  • Ensure that only Authorized Personnel is allowed access into the community.
  • Always use proper telephone etiquette when speaking or answering the telephone.
  • Greet ALL callers with “Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening. Thank you for calling Property name, gate house. This is (your name), how may I assist you.”
  • Report all building deficiencies to Chief Engineer, Management Office, and the Front Desk personnel such as: Any water leaks regardless of the size and severity, fire alarm violations, audible or silent, malfunctioning of equipment.
  • Submit an Incident report or work order to note any deficiencies observed to the Management office immediately.
