About The Position

Welcomes guests to the annual OC Fair and ensures proper admission at the gates. This is a seasonal temporary position not to exceed 122 days. OC Fair concert events will begin in May and potentially continue through September, with the majority of events scheduled in July and August. During the annual OC Fair (July 17 – August 16), concerts are held Wednesday through Sunday. Applicants are required to be fully available and commit to working all concerts during the OC Fair through the end of the concert season. Concert day shifts typically start at 3:00 PM and range from 6 to 8 hours. Scheduling is based on the concert event schedule and is subject to change depending on the approved dates of our 2026 concert events.

Requirements

Employees assigned to bag inspection must be at least 18 years of age.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills a must.
Excellent teamwork skills required.
Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the fairgrounds and general fair information.
Must be available to work 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Monitors the admission of fair patrons, guests, staff, exhibitors and contractors for proper ticket or credential, before allowing them to enter.
Provides frontline bag inspection for guests and staff by identifying dangerous and/or non-permitted items, and ensures these prohibited items are not brought through the gates, but are properly secured and/or discarded.
Operates ticket scanning equipment and provides guidance for other employees in its proper use.
Provides excellent customer service to Fair patrons by answering questions and providing information.
