Primary Purpose of Position: This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: A CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) Tire Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining tires on commercial vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks, trailers and any other company vehicles. This role often involves some fleet maintenance. Essential Functions Technician Responsibilities: Tire Inspection and Repair: Identify tire damage, perform repairs, and determine when tires need replacement. Mounting and Dismounting: Dismount and mount tires on various rim types, including dual axles and super singles Fleet Maintenance: Conduct routine tire checks, rotations, and balancing on all fleet vehicles and trailers Tire Inventory: Build relationship with tire vendor and perform inventory and tire tracking system Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and report maintenance of shop equipment, including tire changing machines, tire gauges, and other tools to Shop Supervisor. Documentation: Complete work orders, log tire information, and maintain accurate records. Communication: Communicate with Shop Supervisor and other team members to provide efficient service.
