About The Position

Responds and assists the Gastroenterologist and the Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff of GI during the pre-procedure, procedure or post procedure period. This position will assist with procedure room set-up, scope cleaning and scope maintenance, as well as entering and maintaining inventory control.

  • High School or GED Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Prepares the room for procedures in a timely fashion.
  • This may include: organizing appropriate equipment and needed procedure tools; setting up quickly and accurately for cases; assuring proper and adequate equipment for all cases.
  • Maintains efficiency in handling equipment at physician's request.
  • Verifies specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse.
  • Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of equipment and tools.
  • Maintains clinical skills as required/documented in unit specific competency based criteria.
  • Assists in positioning patient or equipment for procedure as well as hooking the patient up to the patient monitor.
  • Assists with requisition of supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services and prepare related forms.
  • Cleans and maintains GI equipment.
  • Keeps stock and equipment inventories.
