Gastroenterology Physician Assistant JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Gastroenterology Physician Assistant • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Potsdam, NY • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 6, 2026 – Ongoing (26 weeks) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM COVERAGE DATES • Full-time coverage starting July 6, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Patient ratio approximately 1:14–18 • Admissions: Included as needed • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Gastroenterology and internal medicine cases involving acutely ill adult patients FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard hospital resources • Specialty Backup Available: Physician consultation available • Support Staff Available: NP, LPN, anesthesia support for procedures • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Gastroenterology patient evaluations • Medication management and monitoring • Emergency intervention as needed JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active NY license required • Board: Board Certified required • DEA: Not Specified • Certifications: BLS required • Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent experience • Other Qualifications: Strong communication skills; Epic experience preferred; clean work history required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Evaluate and manage gastroenterology patients in an inpatient setting • Provide patient education on treatments and preventive care • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team • Refer complex cases to supervising physicians as needed • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active NY license required
- Board Certified required
- BLS required
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience
- Strong communication skills
- Clean work history required
