About The Position

The Gastroenterologist provides direct clinical treatment services to patients on an outpatient basis, performs surgical procedures necessary for treatment, ensuring that patients receive the treatment necessary to treat their emergency medical complaint. Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join Cape Gastroenterology Specialists. Cape Gastroenterology Specialists is a comprehensive center for the treatment and care of GI disorders. As a full-spectrum practice, they offer both inpatient and outpatient services using advanced technology for diagnostic testing and interventional care of GI conditions. Since Cape Gastroenterology Specialists is affiliated with Saint Francis Medical Center, they can provide access to specialty care for all patients with disorders of the esophagus, stomach, intestine, pancreas, liver, and colon. Responsibilities: Works constructively and collaboratively with other health professionals. Focuses on attaining high standards of healthcare in Gastroenterology. Duties may include patient care, instructing, monitoring, and advising other health care professionals, as appropriate. Opportunity Highlights: Full spectrum GI practice with 3 Gastroenterologist and 6 Advanced Practice Providers. Clinic Hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM- NO CALL! 4 days procedures and 1 day of clinic. 12-14 procedures per day. Large referral base between 5-star region servicing 720,000 patient population Current medical and surgical procedures include ambulatory pH monitoring, ablation of Barrett’s esophagus, capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, esophageal dilatation, flexible sigmoidoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy, upper endoscopy. Requirements

  • US Residency Trained & BC/BE in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
  • Medical license in the State of Missouri
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Must also maintain a Controlled Substance license for the State of Missouri and Federal DEA.
  • Must have successfully completed, an accredited residency program.
  • Must maintain active medical privileges and medical memberships.
  • Must be Board Certified within 2 years of hire date.
  • Competent in delivery of healthcare services for ages 0 to 120 years.
  • Age specific competency is measured by a variety of methods, which may include, but not be limited to, self-learning packets, review of age specific guidelines, direct observation, video, simulation, unit-based class, policies and procedures, or chart review.
