About The Position

The Gas Engineering, I position will manage pipeline projects that meet and exceed client’s expectations. The individual in this role will leverage their high level of knowledge and experience to work with pipeline design codes and safety requirements. They effectively communicate and coordinate project within scope as well as participate in project scoping, cost estimates, provide guidance for design plans, material selection, constructability, and calculations.

Requirements

  • Four-year bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or similar from an ABET accredited college
  • 0-2 years of professional engineering design experience, utility or pipeline design experience is a plus
  • Experience using MicroStation and AutoCAD is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly
  • Proven ability to manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet client-driven deadlines
  • Adaptable to evolving client needs, new technologies, and engineering tools
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with an eagerness to grow professionally
  • Familiarity with interpreting and applying engineering standards and design specifications
  • Experience reading civil/transportation utility design plans is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative approach to teamwork

Nice To Haves

  • utility or pipeline design experience is a plus
  • Experience using MicroStation and AutoCAD is preferred
  • Experience reading civil/transportation utility design plans is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage gas pipeline design projects, ensuring proper placement of distribution lines in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines
  • Prepare and review engineering design plans, technical calculations, construction specifications, and material selections
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction
  • Lead project scoping activities and support cost estimation and feasibility analyses
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, municipalities, contractors, and internal teams on project progress, design changes, and technical issues
  • Ensure design compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and client-specific requirements
  • Support field staff and construction teams during installation with technical guidance and clarification
  • Review and interpret civil/transportation and utility design plans for integration with gas infrastructure
  • Conduct site visits or field verifications to validate design assumptions and support constructability reviews
  • Participate in value engineering and risk mitigation efforts during design development
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and add value to project delivery
