About The Position

This position is roughly 20 hours per week and is seasonal. Qualification Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of relevant experience preferred. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be professional, flexible and the ability to work at both building locations. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition and is insured in accordance with state and agency requirements. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. Understands and is committed to the hospice philosophy. Essential Job Responsibilities Maintain and rejuvenate existing grounds, gardens, and courtyard ponds at the Hospice Centers; work with and assist scheduled garden and community group volunteers. Working within the current landscape plans, design and install new gardens, as needed, to enhance the beauty of the Hospice Centers grounds. Water and pruning gardens on a regular schedule. Purchase plants, materials and supplies within approved budget. Coordinate donated plants, materials, garden art and supplies. Maintain hospice garden equipment and purchase equipment as needed and within the approved budget. Prepare the grounds and gardens for seasonal changes, i.e. spring cleanup and winterizing beds. Communicate and work supervisor and maintenance personnel regarding any maintenance issues on the Hospice Centers grounds. Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication and performance of duties. Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training. Holds in strictest confidence all patient information and discloses information and data only to persons authorized by Hospice.
