About The Position

The Gardener position at Sunnyside Gardens is responsible for providing a full range of garden services to clients at their homes and serving customers in an accurate and friendly manner. Reporting Relationship Reports to the Head Gardener and General Manager. Position Duties Maintain multiple client properties by performing gardening tasks and installing new plant material within the defined scope of work. Each gardener should learn from their lead. The goal would be to develop to become a Head Gardener. Accurately complete all required paperwork including daily work orders and planter assembly. Properly keep and care for tools and equipment on-site or in the lead vehicle. Communicate needs to Department Project Manager. Keep safety equipment on-site or in the lead vehicle each day. Assist other crews as needed and ask for assistance as needed. Be supportive of the success of the company and crews. Attend all meetings as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of gardening experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of regional plants, common garden weeds, and plant pests preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be friendly, possess a team mentality, and the ability to build rapport.
  • Must have the ability to perform physical labor, accept and adapt to change, be able to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime with some holidays, and weekends. Additional hours may be needed in peak seasons.
