About The Position

We’re hiring a Garden Crew Leader to lead our garden maintenance routes and specialty plant care work. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows plants, takes pride in details, and can confidently guide a small crew (typically 2–3 team members) to complete work efficiently, safely, and professionally. You will set the tone on job sites — for quality, pace, safety, and client interaction.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of garden or landscape maintenance experience preferred
  • Prior crew leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred
  • Solid plant identification and pruning knowledge
  • Reliable attendance and strong time management
  • Ability to give clear direction and hold team members accountable
  • Comfortable working outdoors in Idaho weather
  • Professional communication and client-facing presence
  • PPE is required. Safety is non-negotiable.
  • No chemical application unless licensed and specifically authorized.

  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily garden maintenance routes and assign work clearly to crew members
  • Set expectations for quality, efficiency, and professionalism
  • Train entry-level crew members on proper techniques
  • Ensure properties are left clean, crisp, and TerraVita-ready
  • Direct and perform detailed weeding and bed maintenance
  • Prune shrubs, ornamental trees, and perennials properly
  • Deadhead, shape, and maintain plant presentation
  • Apply mulch to proper depth and maintain clean bed edges
  • Identify plant stress, pests, disease, and irrigation concerns
  • Communicate property notes and improvement needs to management
  • Manage daily tool load-in and load-out
  • Ensure trucks and equipment remain organized and maintained
  • Track basic materials usage (mulch, amendments, etc.)
  • Maintain route timing and productivity standards
  • Represent TerraVita professionally on-site
  • Address basic client questions respectfully
  • Escalate concerns or scope changes to management
  • Enforcing TerraVita safety standards in the field
