About The Position

Performs year end reconciliations of Class III Net Win (C3NW) (Arizona Tribal casinos), Adjusted Gross Event Wagering Receipts (AGEWR) (Event Wagering operators), and Fantasy Sports Contest Adjusted Revenues (FSCAR), including reviews of audited financial statements and required attestations of C3NW, AGEWR, and FSCAR. Conducts complex audits and second reviews of monthly and quarterly revenue reports, to ensure revenue is accurately reported and fees are paid in compliance with the Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Arizona Revised Statute and applicable rules. Communicates with Tribal and EWFS representatives regarding discrepancies or areas of concern when determined. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Requirements

  • Principles and practices of auditing and accounting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Minimum 2 (two) years of accounting/auditing experience.
  • Gaming industry with a working knowledge of Class III Net Win, Adjusted Gross Event Wagering Receipts, and Fantasy Sports Contest Adjusted Revenues is highly desirable.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CMA, CPM, or CFE) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Performs year end reconciliations of C3NW, AGEWR, and FSCAR. Reviews audited financial statements and required attestations of C3NW, AGEWR, and FSCAR. Communicates with Tribal and operator representatives regarding any discrepancies or areas of concern determined during the reviews. Tracks and monitors compliance with the Tribal-State Gaming Compact of 2021, Arizona Revised Statutes and rules. Responsible for all related work steps. This work is primarily performed virtually, but may require in-state and/or out of state travel.
  • Conducts complex audits and verifies the calculation of monthly and quarterly Tribal contribution reports to ensure C3NW by gaming activity is accurately reported and contributions are made in compliance with the Tribal-State Gaming Compact, and its appendices. Conducts complex audits and verifies the calculation of monthly event wagering and fantasy sports contest revenue reports to ensure revenue is accurately reported and privilege fees are paid in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes and applicable rules.
  • Conducts second reviews of quarterly and monthly C3NWreports. Conducts second reviews of monthly EW and FSC revenue reports.
  • Serves as a liaison between the finance division and the Compliance division (Tribal casinos, EWFS operations), coordinating auditing efforts between the two teams.
  • Reviews of attestations of C3NW, AGEWR, and FSCAR may require in-state and/or out of state travel (minimal).
  • May perform account analysis, fund reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and process revenue transactions, transfers, and corrections in AZ360.
  • Verify accuracy of revenue transactions.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)
