About The Position

Join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with City and State tax codes. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to conduct research and audits to resolve taxation and licensing issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial management, business, accounting, or related field.
  • Previous experience in government finance or accounting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with State and City tax codes and their application to assessments.
  • Ability to interact courteously with the public and staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of property assessment methods.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and revenue assessment software.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the functions and interrelationships of the City and other governmental entities.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Audit taxpayer and City financial records to determine tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct legislative reviews and prepare revenue analyses and policy impact reports.
  • Attend meetings and workshops to stay informed on the latest tax policies and audit technologies.
  • Perform comprehensive research for audit analysis and prepare materials for court and legislative reports.
  • Prepare and process various audit reports and documentation to support audit activities.
  • Consult legal and regulatory sources to ensure accuracy and compliance in all work.
  • Communicate with department staff, legal professionals, and government agencies to conduct audit analyses.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Undertake other related tasks as assigned.
