About The Position
This position will assist faculty with technical training of students in Creative Technologies courses. Graduate Assistants may be supporting work in one or more digital mediums: games, sound, music, recording, mixing and mastering, games, video, web, motion graphics, programming, interactivity, 2D/3D, animation, and/ or live performance. The job may also require assisting students outside of class in a laboratory setting. The majority of the graduate teaching assistant's primary duties are in support of instruction including but not limited to the responsibilities below:
Requirements
- Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf .
- Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University.
- For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
- Familiarity with one of the following digital mediums: sound, music, recording, mixing and mastering, video, web, motion graphics, programming, interactivity, 2D/3D, animation, live performance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory
- Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks
- Grade student assignments which require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory
- Meet with and/or tutor students, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or lab, etc.
