About The Position

Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Missouri Valley Conference, is seeking applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Ticket Operations within its Department of Athletics. This is a pre-professional, 12-month appointment that includes a tuition waiver and a stipend. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School. The role involves adhering to the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football conference, the Athletics Department, and Illinois State University. The 12-month appointment will consist of a 2-month summer hourly student position and a 10-month GA appointment from August to May.

Requirements

  • Meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School
  • Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook
  • Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Sport Management, or Recreation Administration
  • Eligible for employment in the United States and at Illinois State University and/or for the number of hours required for the position

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Paciolan software
  • Experience working in an athletics ticket office

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed weekly/monthly sales goals in the areas of full season and partial plan ticket sales
  • Responsible for the annual retention and renewal of season ticket members
  • Enhance relationships with new and existing season ticket members to create new sales opportunities and or to renew, upgrade, and ensure world-class customer service
  • Generate new business from provided leads of local companies and former ticket buyers
  • Maintain organized records of all customers
  • Provide extraordinary service to existing and potential clients
  • Attend home games and special events to market tickets and meet with clients
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist with increasing the Weisbecker Athletic Fund monetary value
  • Oversee Red Alert Student Pass Sales
  • Work with groups for sales and experiences
  • Follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football conference, the Athletics Department, and Illinois State University
