About The Position

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and determining the strategy for providing conceptual and preliminary payload planning. This will focus on overall customer needs and focused on designs, performance, technology maturity, solution on ramps, integration with elements of the weapon system and overall accountability. The role also involves managing Internal Research and Development in support of Strategic Deterrence, overseeing requests for information and requests for proposals, and being accountable for cost, schedule, risk, technical performance, and subcontract management. Strong communication with internal and external customers is required, with the ability to act as the primary customer contact. The manager will participate in the overall generation and communication of status and operating performance, establish milestones, monitor performance, schedule, risks, and obtain solutions for fluctuating resource requirements. Additionally, the position entails directing and providing overall leadership of the employees supporting the program tasking, assembling/expanding a team with relevant skills to accomplish program objectives, and attracting, developing, and maintaining a diverse workforce while fostering an inclusive environment. Requirements

  • BS in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related technical field
  • Minimum of 10 years of program/project management leadership experience
  • Prior experience with program leadership on a major defense acquisition program
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Experience developing strategic program plans and establishing thought leadership to secure future business
  • Prior experience managing multi-disciplinary activity across multiple geographic locations
  • Outstanding program leadership skills and established successful track record of program and project execution, including management of supply chain and subcontractors
  • Ability to balance programmatic and organizational priorities
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis.
  • Final DoD Top Secret Clearance required prior to start, US citizenship is required

  • Success executing development or production programs
  • Strong business acumen and program monitoring and execution
  • Understanding of Risk & Opportunity Management, Contracts Management and Financial Management
  • Reentry system, reentry vehicle, support equipment, and Aerospace Vehicle Equipment hardware experience
  • Prior experience with Air Force ICBM Systems
  • DoD and AF budget and requirements development and acquisition process
  • Strong leadership skills and management experience with ability to interact effectively with diverse program teams
