About The Position

Fuselage Structures Engineering Manager Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Fuselage Structures Engineering Manager (Level K) to join our BCA Airframe Structures Team based in North Charleston, SC. This leadership role requires a servant leadership mindset, strong communication, and collaboration skills to foster an inclusive environment. The focus is on mentoring, building positive relationships, and promoting engineering excellence, safety, and technical leadership. As a manager, you will lead a team of Structures Analysis and Design Engineers supporting the 787 fuselage, overseeing factory operations, MRB, fleet support, design improvements, and partner/supply chain management. You will manage multiple concurrent projects of varying scope. Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, process management, and implementing program management best practices. You will also develop business plans, policies, and technical strategies. Additionally, you will manage engineering activities in Mechanical & Structural Engineering, provide technical oversight of suppliers, drive process improvements, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. The role includes approving technical approaches and motivating the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in structural engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading or managing an engineering team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • 3+ years of experience in Boeing 787 Commercial Airplanes program.
  • Experience in leading 787 Return to Edge Check activities.
  • Experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools.
  • Experience collaborating with other engineering disciplines, production and/or regulatory organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

  • Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
  • Summary Pay Range: $137,700 - $186,300
