About The Position

We are seeking a highly-motivated intern to join our Bridges & Structures Engineering Discipline for Summer 2026 in our Lansing, MI office.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related program.
• Must have reliable transportation to the office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess solid problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in Structural design preferred.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

• The selected candidate will work in the North Central Bridges & Structures group of the Company’s Infrastructure Division on various projects including new or rehabilitated highway, rail and pedestrian bridges and culverts, retaining walls and temporary structures for contractors.
• Responsibilities will include the preparation of a variety of engineering analyses and computations, CAD drawings, technical reports and cost estimates under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Collaborate as a member of the Bridges team to realize project deliverables and deadlines.
• Put classroom lessons to work in a practical, real-world situation.
• Occasional field work may be required under the supervision of senior engineers or managers.
• Opportunities to experience and participate in the design of structural projects for other related Infrastructure Division departments including Rail, Waterway Structures and Hydro-power.
