About The Position

The Furniture Repair Technician 1 repairs, restores, and inspects merchandise that has been damaged or has manufacturer defects. Will work inside the shop or on the dock ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working with upholstery, an array of fabrics, wood furniture, leather and veneer finishes.
  • Able to use necessary tools and equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of leather repairs, wood repairs including scratches, dents and split wood.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Identify repair needed and follow standard operating procedures to repair based upon the need
  • Demonstrate proficiency in repairing at least one of the following: Upholstery / Leather products to include stitching, panel replacement, mechanism, frame repair, button replacement, as well as other components Wood / case goods to include burn ins, color matching, panel replacements, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides and other components
  • Achieve 80% restock to first quality
  • Identify proper quality disposition of furniture after inspection.
  • Have clear understanding and experience with product assembly
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques
  • Able to operate radio frequency equipment
  • Conducts operations in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Maintains a clean work area, free from debris on warehouse floor
  • Meet company standards for productivity
