This position will work within our furniture group to create new designs and collaborate with customers.

Requirements

  • Excellent eye for aesthetic design, while keeping the consumer in mind
  • 2-5 years' experience in interior design and/or product design
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends and market research
  • Understand customer demographics, price points, and margins
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and advise accordingly
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills - detail oriented
  • Potential travel up to 10-15% of the time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in solid wood, veneers, fabrics and/or leather upholstery designs is helpful
  • Previous experience in working with overseas factories is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Create new furniture designs, develop new collections, and explore new product categories based on the company product plan and strategies.
  • Conduct market research for various furniture categories.
  • Present product design concepts to relevant teams and stakeholders
  • Create drawings and/or mood boards that support the vision of new development.
  • Maintain and support a robust material library.
  • Coordinate with product managers to ensure designs support sourcing capabilities.
  • Provide spec sheets with design measurements and details to be sent for quoting and sampling.
  • Collectively and collaboratively give constructive criticism on new concepts and/or designs.
