As a Pattern Repairer, you will Inspect and perform repairs to tooling and fixtures. Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions. Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.

Requirements

  • Shop math, fairly complicated drawings and formulas, precision measuring instruments.
  • Over three months, up to one year of experience.
  • Some judgment to comply with instructions, follow methods, make minor decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times.
  • Extend treatment to all other employees of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers.
  • Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
  • Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
  • Perform basic repair of patterns, core boxes, and fixtures.
  • Perform repairs in production areas on equipment being used on production lines as required.
  • Inspect tooling for wear or damage prior to issue or storage.
  • Deliver tooling to workstations, as directed, and return to storage or the pattern shop upon completion of the production run.
  • Learn to work from basic blueprints, sketches, drawing, specifications and/or verbal or written instructions to complete projects under direct supervision.
  • Learn to select materials and to perform fundamental layout. Learn to cut, form, fit and assemble parts as required.
  • Load and unload tooling from delivery vehicles.
  • Inform supervisor as the status of assignments and record or enter tooling and repair information into information systems as required.
  • Secure proper tools for each task
  • Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to provide for an efficient operation
  • Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member
  • Perform other assignments as may be requested
